PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This presentation proposes that a new intercultural training
approach is needed to deal with the challenges posed by the increasing
complexity of the business environment. The prevailing intercultural
training approach is overly cognitive, linear, and universalist and
tends to support and promote only those training initiatives which confirm
its central assumptions and beliefs. This presentation outlines an alternative
intercultural training approach that stresses complexity, holism, resilience,
and connection.
PRESENTER:
Jimmy Niblock is Professor of Cross-Cultural Management in
the McGill MBA program, Tokyo. He also works as an intercultural trainer
for JAL Academy and the Trompenaars Hampden-Turner Group and as a consultant
for Gruppe Fischer Gaertner (German) regarding executive coaching, change
management, and leadership transition.
How to get there?:
i-Land Tower can be accessed directly from Nishi-Shinjuku
Station on the Marunouchi Line by following the underground path. From
JR Shinjuku Station it is approximately a 10 minute walk. Once you get
to the building, select an elevator that stops on the 4th floor. After
you get off on the 4th floor, walk to the right until you get to the
last door on your left.
