PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Communication between the Japanese and other Asians are one
of the current topics that greatly interest SIETAR members. This presentation
will focus on communication between the Japanese and the Chinese and explore
the differences as well as similarities.
PRESENTER:
Mr. Zheng Wei was born in Shanghai in 1975. He came to Japan
in 1995 and is currently studying in the doctoral program in Division
of Public Administration at the Graduate School of International Christina
University. His specialization is in intercultural studies and Japanese-Chinese
relations. His major publications include: 1) ?A Study on Different Perceptions
of Time between Japan and China from the Perspective of a History of Development
of Timepiece,? (co-authored, Human Communication Studies, Vol. 30, 2002),
2) "A Comparison of Calendar and Time Consciousness between China
and Japan" (co-authored, Journal of Intercultural Communication,
No.6, 2003), "Northeast Asian Political Drama Created by Mass Media:
Comments from Intercultural Communication Perspective" (in Justice
inside and outside Japan, Ochanomizu Shobo, 2003). He is also very much
active in social activities, serving as a coordinator for the NHK 2001
APEC program.
How to get there?:
i-Land Tower can be accessed directly from Nishi-Shinjuku Station
on the Marunouchi Line by following the underground path. From JR Shinjuku
Station it is approximately a 10-minute walk. Once you get to the building,
select an elevator that stops on the 4th floor. After you get off on the
4th floor, walk to the right until you get to the last door on your left.
