PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Some of the functions of humor have great influence on cross cultural communication.
- Tolerance to accept differences
- Disarmament
- Well-established knowledge.
Through the performance of English Rakugo which introduces Japanese culture to the world, I will explain those functions of humor above.
PRESENTER:
Kimie Oshima, An Associate Professor at Bunkyo Gakuin University. Ph.D. in Education (Sociolinguistics). She has been producing English Rakugo in 1997 and taking world tour every year since then. She specialize in studies of Humor and cross cultural communication.
How to get there?:
i-Land Tower can be accessed directly from Nishi-Shinjuku Station
on the Marunouchi Line by following the underground path. From JR Shinjuku
Station it is approximately a 10-minute walk. Once you get to the building,
select an elevator that stops on the 4th floor. After you get off on the
4th floor, walk to the right until you get to the last door on your left.
