Description of the Presentation:
This presentation will examine the relationship between culture and management, what influence culture has on management, and what intercultural management means for corporate globalization strategies. It will also examine and compare differences in Chinese and Japanese organizational management systems and will shed light on some of the various problems caused by these differences depending on the type of Japanese corporate organizational management. Moreover, gaps in Chinese and Japanese verbal and non-verbal communication will be examined, the need for intercultural understanding and intercultural communication between China and Japan in this internationalization age of intercultural communication as well as how and what Japanese corporations in China should do to strengthen intercultural communication.
Profile of the Presenter:
Baoling Zhou is presently a full-time lecturer at Ritsumeikan University and was born in Tianjin City in China. After graduating with a degree in Japanese from China's Tianjin College of Science and Technology, she worked for both Chinese and Japanese corporations. While working for a Japanese corporation, she became aware of the need for intercultural communication between Chinese and Japanese and came to Japan in 1995. She received her Ph.D. from Ritsumeikan's College of Management in international management and intercultural communication. Currently, she continues to do research about intercultural management and intercultural communication in Japanese corporations in China.
