Description of the Program:
This workshop is recommended for all interculturalists who wish to learn the basics of coaching and explore the potential of incorporating coaching skills into everyday intercultural work. You are specially invited to join us if you have the following questions:
- What is this new trend called "coaching"? What do "coaches" do?
- What are some of the basic skills of coaching?
- How can I incorporate coaching skills into my work?
- How can I be a better intercultural trainer and a better communicator?
- What is intercultural coaching?
In this workshop, we will have a chance to try using some coaching skills with each other. The main purpose of the experience is for all participants to grasp a better understanding of coaching and to evoke some creative ideas for incorporating coaching into their own professions. We will also have time for a Q & A session.
Profile of the Presenter:
- M.A. in Comparative and International Development Education from the University of Minnesota
- Certified Coach
- IDI Qualified Administrator / Interpreter (Intercultural Development Inventory)
Akiko is an intercultural trainer and coach. In addition to coaching individuals, she gives seminars, workshops, speeches, and facilitates meetings and events. Recently she is focusing on applying Milton Bennett's IDI in intercultural coaching.
