Description of the Program:
Interculturalists have many opportunities to recognize that strategies for handling conflict differ greatly across cultures. Whatever content inspires the conflict, the process we use for resolving it frequently seems to make it even more uncomfortable. A new inventory, developed by Dr. Mitch Hammer, explores styles of conflict used across cultures, and suggests effective approaches to not only understanding these differences, but also bridging them. During this program, we will:

  • Complete the new Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory
  • Discuss the cultural implications of these styles
  • Suggest strategies for resolving the differences
